A Call to Consecration: Preparing for the 14 Days of Prayer & Fasting

Prayer, by nature, carries a battle component……….we must do so like warriors preparing for war—cleansed, consecrated, and aligned with the will of God.

From the Office of the General Overseer Deliverance Church Uganda– Pastor Peter J. Idembe

Greetings to you all in the precious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I draw your attention to the coming season of prayer and fasting, set to begin on 1st -14th July 2025. This is a sacred time for us as a ministry to seek the face of the Lord, both personally and corporately. I urge us, as shepherds of the flock, to prepare ourselves and our congregations for an encounter with the Lord, our Master and Commander.

In the course of the week, more detailed guidance will be shared regarding how we shall walk through this important season. For now, I call us to begin our personal preparation—not just in logistics, but in heart and spirit.

Prayer Is Battle – And We Must Be Battle Ready

Prayer, by nature, carries a battle component. As we prepare to enter this season, we must do so like warriors preparing for war—cleansed, consecrated, and aligned with the will of God.

I am reminded of the account in Joshua 7:8–13 (NIV), when Israel was defeated by Ai. It was not because Ai was mighty, but because Israel’s relationship with God had been compromised. The Lord’s presence was withdrawn because of hidden sin among the people.

“You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove [the devoted things] from among you.” (Joshua 7:13)

A Call to Consecration

This message is deeply relevant for us today. As leaders, we must first consecrate ourselves—lay aside every sin, every hindrance, and every compromise that may quench the Spirit or grieve the heart of God.

We are not merely going through a spiritual routine—we are positioning ourselves for a divine encounter and for the fulfillment of God’s purposes in our time. Let us encourage our congregations to consecrate themselves and not miss this moment.

14 Days of National Prayer across the entire Deliverance Church Uganda. During this season all churches hold evening prayer meetings throughout the 14 days.
